Allegheny College

Initially the ancestral domain of the Eriechronon people, the region later became home to the Lenape or Delaware Tribe, who, displaced from their own lands, formed alliances and established the settlement of Cussewago under Chief Custalog. The Cussewago settlement eventually gave way to Meadville, Pennsylvania, founded by David Mead in 1788, creating the vibrant community that Allegheny College now calls home.
