Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary

Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) stands as a vibrant hub for theological education, deeply rooted in the Anabaptist Mennonite tradition. The roots of AMBS stretch back even further, to the establishment of a Bible School at the Elkhart Institute in 1894. This humble beginning evolved significantly, moving with the Elkhart Institute to Goshen to become Goshen College, and steadily developing its academic offerings. By 1933, it was offering a ThB degree, expanding to a full graduate seminary program by 1946, known as Goshen Biblical Seminary. Distinguished figures like Harold S. Bender, who served as dean for decades, shaped its early academic excellence and theological identity.
