Angelina College

Angelina College stands as a vital public community college, committed to empowering individuals through its inspiring motto: "Invest In Yourself. Invest In Your Future." Since its inception, the college has been a beacon of accessible education, fostering an environment where students can pursue their academic and career goals with unwavering support.

The institution's rich history began on September 24, 1966, with construction of its original seven-building campus commencing in November 1967. By the fall of 1968, Angelina College proudly opened its doors to its first cohort of students. A pivotal figure in its early years was Jack Hudgins, elected as the first president in December 1966, whose profound impact was later honored with the renaming of the Fine Arts Building to Hudgins Hall in 2001.

The legacy of dedicated leadership continued as Larry Phillips succeeded President Hudgins in 1991, guiding the college through a new era. In 2015, Michael Simon took the helm as the third president, reaffirming Angelina College's ongoing commitment to its founding principles and its mission to provide a high-quality, supportive educational experience that prepares students for success in their chosen fields.
