Angelina College

Angelina College, a vital public community college, has been serving its community since its founding in 1966. With a powerful motto, "Invest In Yourself. The college's journey began on September 24, 1966, laying the groundwork for what would become a cornerstone of local education. After construction of its original seven-building campus commenced in November 1967, Angelina College proudly opened its doors to its first students in the fall of 1968, marking a new era for regional learning and opportunity.

Leadership has been a key part of the college's steady growth. Jack Hudgins, elected as the first president on December 12, 1966, guided the institution through its formative years until 1991. His enduring legacy is honored with the renaming of the Fine Arts Building to Hudgins Hall in 2001. Larry Phillips continued this tradition, and in 2015, Michael Simon became the third president, leading the college into its current chapter of innovation and community service.
