The college's journey began in 1975, originally established as Mississippi County Community College, with Harry V. Smith serving as its inaugural president. In 2003, the college unveiled a crucial child care center, offering free daycare for up to 54 children of its students – a testament to its dedication to removing barriers to education for student parents. Furthermore, a significant $13 million project initiated in 2015 saw the consolidation of three key academic hubs: the Harry L. Crisp Center, the Burdette Center, and the Aircraft & Metals Engineering Center, underscoring ANC's investment in state-of-the-art vocational and technical training.
