Art Academy of Cincinnati

The Art Academy of Cincinnati is a vibrant, private college dedicated to art and design, proudly standing as an independent institution since its separation from the museum in 1998. With a motto of "Make Art, Make a Difference," the academy cultivates creativity and innovation, offering a diverse range of degrees including the Associate of Science in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts across disciplines like Creative Writing, Illustration, Painting and Drawing, and Photography, and a Master of Arts in Art Education.

The academy's move to its current facility at 1212 Jackson St. in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in 2005 marked a pivotal moment, playing a significant role in the area's revitalization as a dynamic arts district. This commitment to sustainability and modern design was recognized in 2008 when the facility received LEED Green Building certification. The campus is designed with students in mind, offering 24-hour access and security, ensuring that inspiration can strike at any time.

For out-of-town freshmen, the academy encourages residency at the modern Academy Housing Facility, which opened in 2020. These loft-style apartments come with fully equipped kitchens, communal laundry, and resident advisors, providing a supportive and engaging living experience for up to 110 students.
