Athenaeum of Ohio

Founded in 1829 as St. Francis Xavier Seminary by Bishop Fenwick, it quickly expanded its reach. Just two years later, Bishop Fenwick established "the Athenaeum" to extend its educational offerings to lay students, demonstrating an early vision for comprehensive faith-based learning. This foundational period laid the groundwork for what would become a vital center for theological study.

Today, with a close-knit community of 225 students, the Athenaeum offers an intimate and supportive learning experience under the leadership of President Anthony R. Brausch.
