Atlantic Technical College

Atlantic Technical College stands as a unique institution in Florida, serving as a comprehensive public secondary and post-secondary educational hub. With roots tracing back to 1973 as the Atlantic Vocational Center, it began by offering 11 vocational programs to 450 adult students. Over decades, the college has undergone significant expansions, continually adapting its curriculum to meet community growth and labor market demands. Today, it proudly serves over 8,000 students through a wide array of programs, with classes available during the day, night, and even Saturday mornings, offering flexibility for diverse learners.

A pivotal moment in its history occurred in 2002 with the establishment of its magnet high school. Starting with an initial class of 150 students, the high school rapidly expanded, reaching a total enrollment of 600 students. This innovative addition quickly earned national recognition, with the high school receiving a prestigious silver medal from U.S. News & World Report for "America's Best High Schools" for three consecutive years, starting in 2010. The first magnet high school class proudly graduated in 2006.

In 2014, the institution officially adopted its current name, Atlantic Technical College, a change that reflects its expansive and comprehensive educational offerings. Beyond its vocational training, the college is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive learning environment. As of the 2021-22 school year, its high school demographic highlights a rich tapestry of cultures, making it a dynamic place for students to pursue their academic and career aspirations.
