Atlantic Technical College

Atlantic Technical College stands out as a dynamic public institution serving a broad spectrum of learners, from high school students to adults seeking career-focused training. Known for its comprehensive vocational education, it provides a vital pathway for individuals to gain real-world skills and achieve professional success in a rapidly evolving job market.

Founded in 1973 as the Atlantic Vocational Center, the school initially offered 11 programs to 450 adult students. Over the decades, it has undergone significant expansion, continually adapting to community growth and labor market demands. A pivotal moment arrived in 2002 with the establishment of its own magnet high school, which quickly grew to a robust 600 students and saw its first graduating class in 2006. In 2014, the institution officially adopted its current name, Atlantic Technical College, reflecting its comprehensive mission.

Today, the college caters to over 8,000 students, offering flexible classes during the day, night, and Saturday mornings to accommodate diverse schedules. Its magnet high school has earned national recognition, including a U.S. News & World Report "America's Best High Schools" Silver Medal for three consecutive years starting in 2010. The high school boasts a vibrant and diverse student body, with a 2021-22 enrollment of 678 students representing a rich tapestry of ethnic backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and enriching educational environment.
