Barclay College

Barclay College offers a unique educational experience rooted in over a century of tradition, evolving from a training school to a respected four-year institution. As a private college with a close-knit community of 210 students, it provides an intimate and supportive environment for those seeking an education with a strong spiritual and academic foundation.

Founded in 1917 as the Kansas Central Bible Training School, the institution quickly grew, adding a two-year junior college course by 1925. Its mission broadened, leading to a name change in 1930 to Friends Bible College. By 1968, the college fully committed to a four-year curriculum, culminating in full accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education in 1975, a testament to its academic rigor and dedicated faculty.

In 1990, the college adopted its current name, Barclay College, in honor of Robert Barclay, the eminent first Quaker theologian. This renaming underscores its enduring commitment to its Quaker roots and a spiritually integrated education. Today, under the leadership of President Derek Brown, Barclay College continues to prepare students for service and leadership, combining robust academics with a deep sense of purpose.
