Black Hawk College

Black Hawk College stands as a cornerstone of community education in Illinois, a public institution dedicated to fostering academic and professional growth. Its journey began in 1946 as Moline Community College, initially co-located with Moline High School. A pivotal transformation occurred in 1961 when it proudly adopted the name Black Hawk College. The institution demonstrated its commitment to expanding educational access by opening operations in Kewanee in 1967 and establishing its full-service East Campus south of Kewanee in 1971, which also specializes in agriculture and horticulture programs. This strategic growth culminated in its official approval in 1989 as a unified college operating across two distinct campuses.
