Its journey began modestly in 1945, housed in the basement of First Church of Christ in Boise. Under the dedicated leadership of early presidents like Orin Hardenbrook and Kenneth Beckman, the college steadily grew. A pivotal moment arrived in 1974 when BBC gained organizational independence from its founding church, solidifying its unique mission. This path of development culminated in 1988 with its accreditation through the American Association of Bible Colleges (now ABHE), affirming its commitment to academic excellence.

Throughout its history, BBC has been marked by periods of remarkable growth and strategic vision. The tenure of President Charles Crane (1990-2007) saw enrollment triple and significant improvements to campus facilities and financial stability. Later, President Terry Stine guided the college to achieve a remarkable debt-free status, showcasing strong stewardship. With a faculty dedicated to subjects like New Testament and Spiritual Formation, the college continues to foster deep theological understanding and practical preparation for ministry.

Today, under the leadership of its 11th president, Scott Lerwick, Boise Bible College continues its legacy of developing servant-leaders.
