This led to the college proudly adopting the name Brightpoint Community College, a designation chosen to celebrate "the heart and energy of [the] institution" rather than venerate a divisive historical figure. This renaming also extended to campus buildings and streets, further solidifying its dedication to an equitable and welcoming environment for all.
