Brite Divinity School

Brite Divinity School, established in 1914, stands as a distinguished seminary with a rich legacy rooted in faith and philanthropy. Founded by Lucas Charles "L.C." Brite and his wife, Edward "Eddie" Anderson Brite, the school was endowed alongside their efforts to build the First Christian Church in Marfa. This foundation highlights a profound commitment to religious education and community service that continues to define Brite's mission today.

Originally known as Brite College of the Bible, the institution adopted its current esteemed name in 1963, marking an evolution in its identity while maintaining its core purpose.
