Bryan College of Health Sciences

The institution's journey began in 1926, with operations officially launching in 1929 as the Bryan Memorial School of Nursing, established to train nurses for Bryan Health. A significant milestone occurred in 1961 when the college opened a new facility and embraced co-education, welcoming men into its nursing programs for the first time. This spirit of innovation continued into 2002, as the college underwent facility renovations and transitioned from a three-year nursing school to a four-year institution, proudly offering a Bachelor of Science degree and rebranding as Bryan-LGH College of Health Sciences.

Today, Bryan College of Health Sciences, having adopted its current name in 2012, boasts a comprehensive array of academic strengths. Its course offerings have significantly expanded to include not only nursing (including MSN nurse educator programs) but also biomedical sciences, public health, healthcare management, and more, reflecting a holistic approach to health sciences. Furthermore, the college actively fosters strategic partnerships, such as with Hastings College to combat healthcare worker shortages in Nebraska, and with Des Moines University to facilitate seamless pathways for students pursuing advanced education, solidifying its role as a forward-thinking leader in healthcare training.
