California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) is a dynamic private medical school on a vital mission: to combat the physician shortage in the United States, particularly within the Inland Empire, a medically underserved region. Opened in 2018, CUSM is quickly becoming a beacon of medical education, dedicated to training the next generation of compassionate and skilled healthcare professionals.

CUSM's foundation is rooted in a philanthropic vision. It was established in 2015 as a non-profit institution by cardiologist Prem Reddy, owner of Prime Healthcare. With a substantial initial donation of $40 million from the Prime Healthcare Foundation, which later grew to over $60 million with additional support from the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation, the university was built on a strong commitment to community health and educational excellence.

Students at CUSM benefit from a modern, purpose-built campus completed in 2020, featuring state-of-the-art facilities including two lecture halls, nine college rooms, 15 clinical skills rooms, and three labs. The high demand for its innovative program was evident when over 2,400 students applied for its inaugural class. CUSM proudly awarded its first medical degrees to 64 physicians in May 2022, and its students gain invaluable hands-on experience through its primary affiliation with Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Many students also receive support through scholarships provided by the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation, making a medical education accessible.
