The college's journey began in 1973 as the Cape Fear School of Theology, founded by Bill Owens with a vision for theological training. It experienced a pivotal shift in 1980, under the leadership of Ralph Richardson, when a dedicated campus was established and the institution was renamed Carolina Bible College. This evolution continued, culminating in its current identity as Carolina College of Biblical Studies in 2012, reflecting its broad commitment to comprehensive biblical education.
