Chaffey College

The college's roots run deep, tracing back to 1883 when brothers George and William Chaffey established a private College of Agriculture in Ontario, California, initially affiliated with USC. After navigating early financial challenges, the institution evolved, eventually re-emerging in 1916 as the Chaffey Junior College of Agriculture within the local high school district. A significant milestone arrived in 1922 with the creation of a separate junior college district, paving the way for its modern identity and the opening of its flagship Rancho Cucamonga campus in 1960.

Today, Chaffey College continues to innovate, offering a robust online education program launched in 1999, alongside its vibrant physical campuses in Rancho Cucamonga, Chino, and Fontana. These modern facilities, significantly enhanced by community bond measures like Measure L and Measure P, provide students with cutting-edge resources and a welcoming atmosphere. The college’s forward-thinking approach to education even caught the attention of President Bill Clinton, who visited in 1996 to propose expanding community college access, a vision Chaffey actively embodies.
