Chaminade University of Honolulu offers a distinctive educational experience rooted in the Marianist tradition, set against the stunning backdrop of Hawaii. The university's rich history began with the arrival of Marianist priests in Honolulu in 1883, who first established the renowned Saint Louis School. Recognizing a growing need for higher education among local Hawai'i Catholics, they expanded their mission by opening Saint Louis Junior College in 1955. This foundation quickly evolved; by 1957, it became a four-year institution known as Chaminade College, and further solidified its academic offerings by adding graduate programs in 1977, leading to its current designation as Chaminade University of Honolulu.
