City College of San Francisco (CCSF) stands as a cornerstone of education in the vibrant heart of San Francisco, offering an exceptional and accessible learning experience. The college's history is as rich as the city it serves. Founded during the Great Depression by Archibald Jeter Cloud, it officially opened as San Francisco Junior College. Early days saw it affectionately nicknamed "Trolley Car College" due to classes spread across various city locations before its main campus near Ocean Avenue, bordering the Sunnyside, Westwood Park, and Ingleside neighborhoods, opened in 1940. Today, this Ocean Avenue campus is the largest of CCSF's six locations spread across San Francisco, ensuring that quality education is conveniently accessible throughout the city. With a student body of over 23,000, CCSF fosters a dynamic and inclusive urban campus environment, symbolized by its Red & Black colors and Rams nickname.
