Clear Creek Baptist Bible College

Deeply rooted in Southern Baptist tradition, Clear Creek Baptist Bible College is dedicated to training men and women for Christian ministry. It stands out for its commitment to both rigorous theological education and practical, hands-on experience, fostering a supportive community environment that has prepared generations for service.

The college's story began with the vision of L.C. Kelly, a Southern Baptist preacher who, inspired by a unique location found in 1924, held the first meeting of his annual Bible Institute in 1926. This modest beginning, initially known as Clear Creek Mountain Springs, Inc., evolved through the decades, becoming Clear Creek Mountain Preacher School and eventually Clear Creek Baptist School. From hosting Kentucky Baptist camp meetings and youth camps, it steadily grew into the accredited institution it is today, driven by a legacy of dedicated leaders.

Academically, Clear Creek has continually adapted to meet the needs of modern ministry. In 2020, it launched a cutting-edge Master of Arts in Ministry program, a competency-based degree designed around 10 core competencies and yielding 30 credit hours. This program exemplifies the college's focus on practical, relevant education, building on its history of full-time education ministry that earned it full accreditation from the American Association of Bible Colleges in 1958.

The student experience at Clear Creek is unique, historically featuring a comprehensive work-study program. This program allowed students to work in various campus enterprises—from chicken coops and farming to a furniture factory—providing both income and practical skills while they studied. Historic buildings like Kelly Hall, finished in 1948, continue to serve students today as male dormitories and the cafeteria, linking current students to the college’s enduring legacy of community and practical service.
