Founded on July 1, 2014, through the strategic merger of Altamaha Technical College (established 1989) and Okefenokee Technical College (established 1965), CPTC built upon a rich legacy of technical education. This consolidation created a robust institution known for its commitment to student success and operational excellence. Its impact was quickly recognized, culminating in CPTC being honored with the prestigious Sonny Perdue Award for the TCSG Technical College of the Year in 2017, celebrating its remarkable achievements in enrollment growth, graduation rates, and efficiency.

Academically, CPTC offers an extensive array of over 130 programs, including associate's degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Students can dive into diverse fields such as allied health, business and computer technologies, personal services, and various industrial technologies.
