What began as the Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School in 1969 evolved through its tenure as Eastern Idaho Technical College, ultimately transforming into a comprehensive community college in 2017 through a pivotal vote by Bonneville County residents. CEI proudly offers a dual pathway for its students, preparing them for immediate entry into the workforce or for seamless transfer to a four-year university, all encapsulated by its motivating motto: "Real education. Academically, CEI boasts robust divisions including Business, Office, and Technology; Health Professions; Trades and Industry; and General Education. Students can pursue Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, meticulously designed for transferability, or gain specialized skills through Advanced Technical Certificates.
