College of Menominee Nation

The College of Menominee Nation (CMN) stands as a beacon of education and cultural preservation, uniquely chartered by the Menominee Tribal Legislature. As a private tribal land-grant community college, CMN offers a distinct learning environment for its 661 students, deeply rooted in Menominee culture and dedicated to serving its community.

From its inception, CMN quickly established itself as a credible and vital institution. Chartered in 1993, it began offering classes in the very same spring semester. This rapid development continued as the college was designated a land-grant college in 1994, joining a select group of tribal institutions with this important federal recognition. Its commitment to academic excellence was further solidified in 1998 when it received full accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Under the leadership of President Chris Caldwell, CMN continues to foster an engaging and supportive academic experience. Its journey, marked by strong presidential leadership from Verna Fowler to Diana Morris as interim, reflects a continuous dedication to providing accessible, high-quality education.
