College of Saint Benedict

The College of Saint Benedict offers a truly unique educational journey, standing as a private, Benedictine liberal arts college exclusively for women. What makes CSB particularly special is its deep, integrated partnership with Saint John's University, a men's college located nearby. This innovative collaboration, often referred to as CSBSJU, provides students with a shared curriculum and comprehensive access to the vibrant resources and facilities of both picturesque campuses.

Founded in 1913, the College of Saint Benedict grew out of St. Benedict's Academy, established by Saint Benedict's Monastery in 1889, grounding it in a rich Roman Catholic and Benedictine tradition. This heritage continues to shape its commitment to academic excellence, community, and personal growth. Together with Saint John's, CSB offers an impressive array of over 70 areas of study to undergraduate students, ensuring a diverse and robust academic experience tailored to a wide range of interests and career aspirations.
