Since its founding in 1957, COS has quickly built a reputation for excellence, especially in its career-focused programs. COS opened its doors on September 8, 1959, following a community-supported special election, and earned full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges by 1961 – a testament to its immediate commitment to academic rigor.
