The college's inspiring journey began in 1995 as Dental Directions: The School of Dental Assisting, founded by Teresa Knox. Demonstrating rapid success, it graduated twelve students in its inaugural year and over 300 by mid-1998. This swift growth led to its expansion and rebranding as Community Care College (CCC), securing vital accreditation with the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). In 2003, CCC established its permanent home at a modern facility on S. Sheridan Road, a testament to its expanding vision.

Enhancing its academic rigor, CCC introduced Associate of Applied Science degrees in 2004, which were later updated in 2017 to an Associate of Occupational Science Business and Industry Management degree. These programs highlight the college's dedication to providing robust, industry-relevant education that meets contemporary workforce needs. Most recently, the college received a historic US $16 million donation from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott in December 2025.
