Connors State College

Connors State College, established in 1908, proudly serves its community as a public community college guided by the inspiring motto, "Building Futures One at a Time." With a vibrant student body of 2,098, Connors State is dedicated to providing accessible and quality education, preparing students for successful careers and further academic pursuits. Under the leadership of President Ronald Ramming, the college continues its legacy of student-focused education.

The college's roots run deep in Oklahoma's history, originally founded as an agricultural high school. This initiative was part of a state mandate to establish agricultural schools across Oklahoma's judicial districts after it achieved statehood in 1907. Warner, Oklahoma, won the competition to host the school by donating a substantial 160 acres, and it was named in honor of John P. Connors, the first president of the Board of Agriculture.

In a pivotal moment in 1927, the Oklahoma Legislature officially recognized the institution as an accredited junior college, renaming it Connors State Agricultural College. Its journey continued through various administrative realignments, including being placed under the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education in 1941 and later the Board of Regents for Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges in 1944. This evolution culminated in 1967 with its renaming to Connors State College of Agriculture and Applied Science, reflecting its broadened scope while maintaining its commitment to practical, applied education. Connors State College continues its legacy today, focused on empowering each of its students to build a brighter future.
