Copiah-Lincoln Community College

Established through the collaborative spirit of Copiah and Lincoln Counties, Co-Lin has grown from its roots as an agricultural high school to become a prominent community college. Known for its steadfast commitment to serving diverse learners, Co-Lin provides invaluable opportunities for young people, adults, and senior citizens across its expansive service area.

Tracing its origins back to 1915 as an agricultural high school, Co-Lin evolved into a junior college in 1928, steadily expanding its reach and influence. Over the decades, five additional counties—Simpson, Franklin, Lawrence, Jefferson, and Adams—joined in its support, demonstrating its vital regional importance. This growth led to the establishment of branch campuses, including the Natchez branch in 1972 to better serve local needs, and the state-of-the-art Sidney Parker campus in 2005, a 35,000-square-foot facility in Simpson County.

Today, Co-Lin stands as a comprehensive institution boasting an enrollment of over 3,200 students and a physical plant valued at more than $35 million. It offers a robust array of academic programs alongside essential Career-Technical training, including LPN classes, ensuring students are well-prepared for both further education and workforce entry. The transition to Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 1988 underscored its mission to be a comprehensive resource, continually adapting to meet the evolving educational and community needs of its residents.
