Originally established in 1947 as Rosary Hill College, a Catholic institution for women, Daemen has a rich history of progressive growth. It bravely opened its doors to men in the mid-1960s, graduating its first male student in 1965, and in 1976, it became a secular, independent institution, adopting the name Daemen College in honor of Mother Magdalene Daemen.
