Despite its initial specific focus, the institution was open to men of all ethnic and religious backgrounds, demonstrating an early commitment to inclusivity.

Over the decades, the school evolved significantly. It began admitting women in 1969, reflecting broader societal changes. Following World War II, it expanded its curriculum, transforming into a four-year college and later, in 1960, changing its name to Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture. The academic offerings continued to grow, with the introduction of its first graduate programs in 1998. This journey culminated in December 2014 when the college was granted university status, officially becoming Delaware Valley University on April 8, 2015, solidifying its commitment to advanced education while staying true to its founding principles of practical learning.
