The university's journey began in 1999 with the establishment of the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS). This foundation laid the groundwork for DMU's future expansion. In 2015, a significant evolution occurred with the creation of DMU's School of Counseling, leading to the restructuring of IPS into Divine Mercy University itself.
