Donnelly College

Nestled in the heart of Kansas City, Donnelly College stands as a testament to accessible and transformative education. Established in 1949 by the visionary Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica and Bishop George Joseph Donnelly, the college began as a crucial two-year institution, providing vital educational opportunities to its community. From its very inception, Donnelly College has been dedicated to serving students and fostering growth, embodying a rich legacy of commitment and support.

Over the decades, Donnelly College has evolved significantly to meet the changing needs of its students. What started as a two-year college has grown into a dynamic institution offering sought-after bachelor's degrees. Pioneering its first bachelor's program in Organizational Leadership in 2006 (now known as Business Leadership), the college has since expanded its academic offerings to include an additional bachelor's degree in Information Systems, equipping graduates with essential skills for today's professional landscape. This commitment to modern education was further solidified with the transition into a new academic building in the fall of 2020, providing state-of-the-art facilities for learning.

Beyond its traditional campus programs, Donnelly College is renowned for its pioneering and impactful initiatives, most notably its groundbreaking college in prison program. Launched in 2001, this program underscores the college's deep commitment to providing educational access to all, fostering rehabilitation, and transforming lives. As of 2023, this commendable program has celebrated the graduation of over 30 men, a powerful testament to Donnelly College's enduring mission to empower individuals and enrich communities through education, regardless of their circumstances.
