Donnelly College

Donnelly College, established in 1949, stands as a testament to transformative education rooted in community service. Founded by the dedicated Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica and Bishop George Joseph Donnelly, this institution began as a two-year college, steadfast in its commitment to providing quality education to its students and the wider community.

The college's history is shaped by its founding principles, with the Benedictine Sisters providing the initial faculty and setting a standard for dedicated instruction. Adapting to the evolving needs of its students and the job market, Donnelly College expanded its academic offerings, launching its first bachelor's degree program in Organizational Leadership in 2006, now known as Business Leadership.

Today, Donnelly College is known for its practical, career-focused bachelor's degrees, including Business Leadership and Information Systems. A hallmark of its unique mission is the impactful "College in Prison" program, initiated in 2001, which exemplifies the college's profound belief in second chances and accessible education. By 2023, this program proudly celebrated over 30 graduates. Students at Donnelly also benefit from modern facilities, as the college transitioned into a new academic building in 2020, fostering an enhanced learning environment.
