Dutchess Community College

Nestled in the picturesque Hudson Valley, Dutchess Community College (DCC) stands as a vital public community college and a proud member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Founded in 1957 on the site of a former tuberculosis hospital, which now houses Bowne Hall, DCC has grown significantly over the decades. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007, marking half a century of educational service that has seen over 30,000 graduates earn degrees and certificates. A significant milestone in the student experience came with the opening of Conklin Hall in 2012, which, as the college's first on-campus residence hall, offers modern living spaces for up to 467 students.

Academically, DCC is a powerhouse, offering over 60 programs tailored to associate degrees or certificates, preparing students for transfer to four-year institutions or direct entry into the workforce. Beyond traditional degrees, the Office of Workforce Development and Continuing Education provides essential non-credit courses, High School Equivalency preparation, ESL classes, and vital workforce training. The college extends its reach with specialized facilities like the Center for Excellence in Industry and Innovation in Fishkill and an aviation education center at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport, ensuring practical, hands-on learning. Remarkably, one-third of all college-bound high school graduates in Dutchess County choose DCC each year, highlighting its integral role in fostering local talent and leadership within the Hudson Valley.
