Edmonds College

Edmonds College stands as a vibrant public community college with a rich history of serving students since its founding in 1967. Though situated in Lynnwood, its name pays homage to its initial operations at Woodway High School in Edmonds. The college has undergone significant evolution, most notably transforming its identity in 2020 to reflect its expanded offerings, which now include four-year degree programs.

The institution's academic strength is significantly bolstered by its enduring partnership with Central Washington University, established in 1975. This collaboration allows Edmonds College students to pursue a range of bachelor's degrees and even a master's program directly on campus through CWU-Lynnwood, providing accessible higher education opportunities. Initial programs in accounting and business administration have grown to eight bachelor's and one master's degree, making advanced learning locally attainable.

Students at Edmonds College engage in a dynamic learning environment on a 50-acre campus, formerly a U.S. Army relay station. From its humble beginnings with a student newspaper affectionately nicknamed "The Quagmire" due to muddy campus conditions, to celebrating its first sole graduate in 1968, the college fosters a supportive atmosphere. With a current student body of over 10,000, Edmonds College continues to adapt and provide relevant educational pathways for a diverse community, preparing individuals for both immediate careers and continued academic pursuits.
