Faith International University

Faith International University & Seminary, established in 1969 as Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary, stands as a beacon for those committed to upholding the teaching and practice of biblical inerrancy. Founded by Lutherans Alert-National (LAN), the university emerged from a critical need to preserve historic, biblical theology amidst a shifting ecclesiastical landscape. Its establishment in Tacoma, Washington, marked a decisive step to counter emerging liberal trends within the church.

The genesis of Faith International University & Seminary can be traced back to 1968 when LAN initiated an investigation into effective avenues for proclaiming historic biblical theology. This proactive search culminated in the recommendation to establish a seminary specifically dedicated to the inerrant Word of God. This commitment forms the core of the institution's academic identity and mission, attracting students who share this foundational theological conviction.

Under the leadership of its first president, the Rev. Dr. R. H. Redal, the university began its initial classes on September 23, 1969. Today, Faith International University continues its mission with a student body of 473, guided by President Michael Adams. It remains a private institution dedicated to its founding principles, offering an educational environment rooted in the historic confessions of the Lutheran church as outlined in the 1580 Book of Concord.
