Flathead Valley Community College

Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) stands as a vibrant hub of learning, proudly serving over 3,100 students as a public community college. Established in 1967, FVCC distinguishes itself as one of only three two-year institutions in Montana operating independently, outside the larger state university systems. It boasts an impressive 24 different Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree majors, alongside an Associate in Arts degree for aspiring substance abuse counselors and an Associate of Science degree for those pursuing a career in nursing. A standout example of its innovative spirit is the AAS degree in Brewing Science and Brewery Operations, launched in 2015, complete with an on-campus brewery for hands-on student instruction.

The student experience at FVCC is enriched by a history of spirited competition and achievement. While today's athletic programs may vary, the college proudly remembers its former sports teams, the Mountaineers and Mountainettes (sometimes known as Timberettes). Notably, the Mountainettes track and field and cross country teams brought national championship titles home in the 1970s, showcasing a legacy of excellence that continues to inspire current and future students.
