Folsom Lake College

Folsom Lake College, a dynamic public community college founded in 2004, has grown into a vibrant educational hub serving over 11,800 students. What began as scattered centers under the Los Rios Community College District in the 1960s, including the affectionately known "University Behind Raley's," transformed into a cohesive institution. Its journey reflects a commitment to accessible education and continuous expansion, culminating in its official accreditation in 2004 and the establishment of its main Folsom campus alongside robust El Dorado and Rancho Cordova centers.

Academically, Folsom Lake College offers a comprehensive learning environment supported by state-of-the-art facilities. Students benefit from dedicated science and art labs in Cypress Hall, a large lecture hall in Buckeye Hall, and a recently renovated makerspace for innovation. The Falcon's Roost acts as a central hub with a cafeteria, bookstore, and student services, fostering a strong sense of community. The college also prides itself on its rapidly developing athletic program, which kicked off in 2010 and now includes numerous men's and women's sports across impressive facilities like soccer, baseball, and softball stadiums, tennis courts, and a gymnasium.
