Great Lakes Christian College

Great Lakes Christian College (GLCC) stands as a testament to persistent growth and a steadfast commitment to faith-based education. Established in 1949 as Great Lakes Bible College, its journey began humbly near Vestaburg, Michigan, with a pioneering class of just 12 students. This modest start laid the groundwork for an institution that would continually adapt and expand its reach.

The college's history is marked by a dynamic evolution across various locations, each move signifying a step forward in its development. From acquiring its first campus farm in 1951, to relocating to the historic Dodge Mansion in Lansing in 1958, GLCC demonstrated an enduring spirit. A pivotal moment came in 1972 when it acquired 47 acres in Delta Township, paving the way for the construction of its modern campus, a home it continues to build upon today.

In 1992, the institution officially changed its name to Great Lakes Christian College, reflecting its broader educational mission while maintaining its core Christian values. The campus has continued to evolve with significant additions like the multi-purpose Doty Center, dedicated in March 2008, and the Knowles Learning Center, constructed in 2011. The Knowles Learning Center, which includes faculty offices and a conference room, further enhances the academic environment, supporting both students and staff in their pursuit of knowledge and faith-informed scholarship.
