Welcome to Haven University, a distinguished private institution with a rich legacy spanning over five decades. Under the leadership of President Joshua Smith and Chancellor Kang Won Lee, Haven University is dedicated to fostering an environment of intellectual growth and community engagement. Tracing its roots back to the California Graduate School of Theology, Haven has proudly nurtured over 6,000 alumni, impacting various fields with their scholarship and dedication.

Haven University's journey began in 1969, founded by visionaries William S. McBirnie, a renowned Southern Baptist pastor, author, and educator, alongside psychologist George Crane and Robert Grant. This collaborative spirit led to its opening in 1970 on the welcoming campus of the United Community Church in Glendale, where the foundations for its academic and community life were laid with dedicated classroom facilities and a library.

Over the years, Haven University has demonstrated a commitment to evolution and growth. Under the presidency of Lawrence Wilkes, the institution navigated significant relocations, moving from the Crystal Cathedral campus in Garden Grove to its current, thriving location. This adaptability, combined with its profound history and a steadfast focus on its mission, ensures that Haven University continues to be a vibrant hub for learning and a strong community for its students and families.
