Henry Ford College

Henry Ford College (HFC), nestled in Dearborn, Michigan, stands as a cornerstone of public community education, dedicated to empowering students with accessible, high-quality learning opportunities. HFC's rich history dates back to 1938 when it was first established as Fordson Junior College by the Dearborn Fordson Public Schools Board of Education. Its journey began humbly, with classes initially held in the basement of Fordson High School. Over the decades, the institution evolved, adopting the name Dearborn Junior College in 1946, and then becoming Henry Ford Community College in 1952, a significant change that followed the transfer of assets from the historic Henry Ford Trade School. The college officially embraced its current name, Henry Ford College, in 2014.

Today, Henry Ford College thrives as a vibrant hub of learning, enrolling over 17,000 students annually across its comprehensive programs. Its 75-acre suburban campus provides a conducive environment for a wide array of academic pursuits, from foundational courses in mathematics and English to diverse foreign language studies housed in the Walter P.
