Hobe Sound Bible College

Hobe Sound Bible College, established in 1960, stands as a private Bible college dedicated to its profound motto: "Knowing Christ and Making Him Known." Under the leadership of President Matthew Maloyed, this institution offers a unique educational journey rooted deeply in conservative holiness principles, preparing students not just for careers, but for lives of purpose and faith.

The college's rich history began with the vision of Stephen D. Herron, a prominent Wesleyan Methodist minister. In 1960, Herron envisioned a school that would provide a quality education within a conservative holiness framework. Collaborating with H. Robb French and the Florida Evangelistic Association, the college found its home utilizing the facilities of Sea Breeze Camp. This initiative quickly gained support, with donations raised at the 1960 camp meeting enabling its launch.

By September 1960, Hobe Sound Bible Institute, as it was then known, welcomed its inaugural class of 24 students from 12 states and Canada, guided by a dedicated three-person teaching staff. From these humble beginnings, the college has grown significantly, establishing itself as a respected and influential institution within the broader holiness movement. Beyond its college-level programs, Hobe Sound Bible College extends its educational outreach through the Hobe Sound Christian Academy, providing Christ-centered schooling for grades K-2 through 12.
