The institution pivoted its focus to nursing education in 2006, launching Practical Nursing diplomas and Associate degrees in Nursing. This foundational step quickly led to expansion, gaining authority in 2011 to confer bachelor's degrees and achieving prestigious accreditation for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) by 2013. Today, Hondros College of Nursing is renowned for its innovative academic approach, incorporating a concept-based curriculum and realistic lab simulation experiences since 2016 to ensure students are exceptionally prepared for the challenges of modern healthcare. With a significant acquisition by American Public Education, Inc. (APEI) in 2013, the College has continued to grow its footprint, opening new campuses in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.
