Hondros College of Nursing

Hondros College of Nursing is a dedicated institution focused on preparing students for impactful careers in nursing. Originally established in 1981 as a real estate preparatory school, it has evolved into a leading provider of comprehensive nursing education, known for its hands-on approach and commitment to student success. Its programs, ranging from practical nursing diplomas to bachelor's degrees, are meticulously designed to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.

The journey of Hondros College of Nursing into the healthcare field began in 2006, when it first introduced Practical Nursing diplomas and Associate Degrees in Nursing at its West Chester campus. This marked a significant pivot, and the college quickly demonstrated its commitment to advancing nursing education. In 2011, it gained authority from the Ohio Board of Regents to confer bachelor's degrees, subsequently launching its online RN-BSN completion program. This program swiftly achieved accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education in May 2013, solidifying the college's academic standing.

Hondros College of Nursing continually enhances its curriculum to ensure students are exceptionally well-prepared for the realities of the nursing profession. In 2016, the college introduced an innovative concept-based curriculum complemented by realistic lab simulation experiences, providing an immersive and practical learning environment. Acquired by American Public Education, Inc. (APEI) in 2013, Hondros leverages additional resources to fulfill its mission. The college has also seen remarkable expansion, opening new campuses across Ohio and beyond, including Indianapolis, Akron, and Detroit, making quality nursing education accessible to a wider student body and shaping the next generation of nurses.
