Hutchinson Community College

Hutchinson Community College, established in 1928, stands as a cornerstone of accessible higher education, proudly serving a vibrant student body of 5070 learners. As a public community college, HCC is dedicated to fostering academic and personal growth under the leadership of President Dr. Tricia Paramore, providing a welcoming environment where students can discover their passions and build strong foundations for their futures.

The college boasts a rich and dynamic history, beginning its journey as Hutchinson Junior College in 1928. Over the decades, it has consistently adapted to the evolving educational landscape, undergoing several name changes to better reflect its expanding mission. From Hutchinson Community Junior College in 1965 to its current designation, HCC has always prioritized community service.

A significant milestone occurred in 1993 when it merged with the local vocational school, becoming Hutchinson Community College and Area Vocational School, demonstrating its commitment to comprehensive vocational and academic training. While the vocational school addition was later removed in 2012, HCC continues its legacy of providing diverse educational pathways, ensuring a supportive and engaging student experience designed to prepare graduates for successful careers and continued education.
