Illinois Valley Community College

For nearly a century, Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) has served as a pivotal educational cornerstone for the Illinois Valley region. Established in 1924 as the LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College, IVCC began with a modest class of 32 students, laying the groundwork for what would become a thriving institution. Under the leadership of Dr. Thomas J. McCormack, the college's early mission was clear: to prepare students for impactful futures. This rich heritage underlines IVCC's enduring role in shaping generations of learners.

A significant transformation occurred on July 1, 1966, when the college was officially renamed Illinois Valley Community College, a title more fitting for the expansive area it serves. This evolution culminated in a move to its impressive current campus in September 1968, a relocation made possible by an $8.25 million community referendum. Today, under the leadership of President Dr. Tracy Morris, IVCC continues its mission from this modern facility, fostering academic excellence and personal growth within the heart of the Illinois Valley.
