IRSC's journey began in 1959 as Indian River Junior College, established to serve a vital role in the region. After an initial move to its expansive Fort Pierce campus in 1963, the college significantly expanded its reach in 1965 through a merger with Lincoln Junior College, extending its services across multiple counties.
