Indiana University-Southeast

Indiana University-Southeast, a public regional master's university, traces its roots back to 1941 as the Indiana University Falls City Area Center. Initially established as an extension center, its foundational mission was to provide accessible freshman and sophomore education in New Albany and Jeffersonville, offering a crucial pathway to higher education for local residents. Evolving from its beginnings in local high school classrooms, the institution marked a significant milestone in 1945 when it moved into its own dedicated building in Jeffersonville.
