Interactive College of Technology

Since its establishment in 1982, Interactive College of Technology (ICT) has been a dedicated institution focused on equipping students with the practical skills needed for success in a dynamic job market. Originally founded as Akers Computerized Learning Centers in Athens, Georgia, ICT quickly grew its footprint, reflecting its commitment to accessible, career-focused education. It stands out for its hands-on approach and dedication to student advancement beyond initial certification.

The institution's journey saw significant expansion in its early years, with five additional campuses opening between 1983 and 1986, including a key location in Dallas, Texas. In 1986, it was acquired by Interactive Learning Systems, marking the beginning of Elmer Smith's tenure as president, a role he has held ever since. This period also saw further growth with campuses added in Houston, Texas, and Kentucky, broadening its reach and impact across multiple states. The organization officially became Interactive College of Technology in 1996, relocating its main campus to Chamblee, Georgia, to better serve its growing student body.

Today, ICT continues to evolve its offerings to meet the needs of an ever-changing professional landscape. In 2021, the college announced a strategic relationship with National American University, providing ICT students with an invaluable pathway to seamlessly complete bachelor's degrees. This partnership underscores ICT's commitment not only to foundational career training but also to fostering opportunities for continued higher education and professional growth, ensuring its graduates are well-prepared for long-term career success and academic achievement.
