The institution's rich history began in 1977 with The Keiser School in Fort Lauderdale, founded by Arthur and Evelyn Keiser to meet specific workforce demands. Over the decades, it progressively expanded its academic offerings and evolved through several name changes—from Keiser Institute of Technology in 1982 to Keiser College in 1986, when it began awarding associate degrees. By 2001, bachelor's degree programs were introduced, leading to its final transformation into Keiser University in 2006. A significant milestone occurred in 2011 when the university transitioned from a for-profit entity to a not-for-profit model, reinforcing its commitment to student-centric education.
