Keystone College

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Factoryville, Pennsylvania, Keystone College has been a beacon of education guided by its motto, "Progress Through Effort," since its founding in 1868. As a private institution, Keystone boasts a rich heritage of transforming lives and fostering academic growth, initially serving as a critical educational hub in the region.

What began as Keystone Academy, chartered in 1868, quickly became a pivotal institution—the only high school between Binghamton, New York, and Scranton, Pennsylvania. Over the decades, it continually evolved, becoming Scranton-Keystone Junior College in 1934, then Keystone Junior College in 1944, before embracing its current identity as Keystone College in 1995. This journey reflects a steadfast commitment to expanding educational opportunities, culminating in the approval to offer baccalaureate degrees in 1998 and master's degrees in 2014.

Keystone's story is also one of remarkable resilience and dedication to its students. Recently navigating significant accreditation challenges with its accreditor, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the college demonstrated its unwavering commitment to providing quality education. Through diligent effort and strategic planning, Keystone successfully maintained its accreditation in February 2025, ensuring its students can confidently pursue their academic goals. This steadfastness underscores a supportive environment dedicated to student success.

Today, under the leadership of President John F. Pullo, Sr., Keystone College continues its legacy of fostering personal and academic progress. With a current student body of 1051, it remains a vibrant community where students are encouraged to engage, learn, and grow, embodying the spirit of "Progress Through Effort" in every endeavor.
