With a history rooted in community service, Kishwaukee College was established in 1968 under its first president, Dr. W. Lamar Fly. Over the decades, it has grown significantly, adding essential facilities like sports venues, a greenhouse, and a therapeutic massage clinic. The college also celebrates a significant milestone in its leadership, with Dr. Laurie Borowicz making history in 2015 as the fifth president and the first woman to hold the position.

The college's commitment to student experience and modern learning is clear, highlighted by a major campus expansion approved by voters in 2011. This initiative led to significant updates to existing facilities, the construction of a new student center, and expanded parking, ensuring a comfortable and comprehensive campus experience.
