Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) stands as a vibrant public community college dedicated to fostering the next generation of skilled professionals. With a close-knit student body of 1,171, LRCC provides accessible, high-quality education that directly responds to regional workforce needs, empowering students to achieve their academic and career aspirations across a diverse range of fields from cutting-edge technology to health sciences and the arts.

Originally established as Laconia College in 1967, LRCC has a rich history of growth and adaptation. The campus saw its first major physical expansion in 1980 with the addition of the Robert H. Turner wing, laying the groundwork for future development. This commitment to continuous improvement ensures that students learn in modern and evolving environments, equipped to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Academic excellence at LRCC is particularly strong in its specialized facilities. The Center for Arts and Technology, completed in 2005, houses state-of-the-art programs in Computer Technologies, Electrical Technologies, Fine Arts, and Graphic Design and Printing Technology. Building on this momentum, 2013 saw the opening of the impressive 24,000-square-foot Health and Science Building, a testament to the college’s dedication to advanced learning in critical sectors.

This modern facility boasts four new sophisticated science and hi-tech Nursing labs, two new Fire Science labs, faculty offices, and a 140-seat mini-auditorium. These specialized spaces provide hands-on, immersive learning experiences for students pursuing careers in Fire Science, Nursing, and various scientific disciplines, ensuring they graduate with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge essential for success in their chosen professions.
